Alex Alarcón, born in Barcelona, composes and releases electroacoustic music under his Sustainer alias. After spending more than a decade working with rhythmic structures, for a few years his interest has been focused on the use of acoustic instruments and found sounds that he processes with the help of digital tools. His fascination with obsolete technologies leads him to discover ancient styles of popular music, now unfairly forgotten, which serve him as a starting point to create new compositions with them. Since 2003, his works have been released in multiple formats and on different labels, such as Italic, Thinner, Room40, Eilean, Tessellate recordings, Rottenman, among many others.
